I will Succeed

I weighed in today and I am up a few pounds. That's alright I feel good today about having will power and control over my food choices. I will succeed. I can make lifestyle changes. I need to do more planning, including a plan for drinking water, 500ml before every meal and I will keep track of this by writing it down. I will also try a menu plan for the week. When I am thinking about a food I want to have right now, I can see it on the menu and know that I will enjoy it another day. I don't have to have all my favourites in one day.

I have been analyzing my relationship with chocolate and sugar. Is it the carbs I crave? The reaction to the insulin depleting my blood of sugar. I question this since I have been treating myself to various sugar free chocolates. I still crave them and from what I have observed it is the pleasure I get from eating the treat. The taste and texture when it is in my mouth, when I chew it and when I am cleaming my teeth with my tongue of the last few tastes of pleasure. This is what I have summed it up to. It is truly enjoyable to eat chocolate. Caramel gets me too. Peanut Butter does it as well. Then you mix them all together and I love it, sugar or no sugar.

Are there other activites that give me this pleasure? Healthy activities. Yes. Music, dancing, organizing, yes, organizing, crafts. How can I include these more in the place of chocolate treats, thus, limiting my chocolate to once or twice a week? I guess I will experiment and see. Keep a log of the experiences with different activites and do a comparison. SHould be interesting.
